The service in detail
Civil and infrastructure works establish the levels, access routes and underground networks that support a development. Drainage, utility routes, roads and paving need to be considered together: a finished surface depends on what has been installed and checked beneath it. The scope may combine site grading, excavation, backfilling, chambers, drainage and external surfaces according to the project requirements.
Planning starts with the site layout, available surveys, existing service information and intended traffic or pedestrian use. Underground routes and chambers are coordinated before excavation, while drainage levels and connections are reviewed against the design. Backfilling and surface construction follow the specified sequence so later activities do not unnecessarily disturb completed areas. Working near existing utilities also requires agreed access, identification and appropriate precautions.
Checks are planned before buried services are covered and before the final paving or asphalt is placed. Relevant measurements, inspections and test results are recorded where included in the scope. Preparation and grading of the site to the required formation levels, coordinating access routes, proposed surfaces and the relationship between buildings and external areas.

Excavation of trenches and service corridors, followed by suitable bedding, controlled backfilling and compaction to support the installed utilities and finished surfaces.

Construction of service trenches, ducts, inspection chambers and associated civil structures, coordinating routes, access points and crossings with the relevant utility disciplines.

Installation of drainage and stormwater pipework, channels and collection points, with gradients and discharge connections coordinated to the approved network design.

Construction and reinstatement of road and pavement layers, including preparation, surfacing and tie ins with adjoining access areas within the agreed project scope.

Installation of kerbstones and interlocking paving, with coordinated edge restraints, levels and surface falls to suit vehicle movement, pedestrian use and drainage.

Construction of perimeter walls and fencing, including foundations, gates and connections to the surrounding site layout as detailed in the approved design.
